On Monday, Russia’s Investigative Committee Chief Alexander Bastrykin revealed that they are investigating more than 10 Americans and several officials from the Ukrainian Defence Ministry for their “involvement in double-purpose biological programs” in Ukraine.

Bastrykin told TASS that the Russian Defence Ministry had acquired the relevant evidence during the “special military operation” in Ukraine, and had achieved other results from operational and investigative activities as well. The Russian forces have gathered over 20,000 documents.

He noted that the investigation was part of the Kyiv regime’s violation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction (BTWC).

Kosachev’s Comments

Earlier this month, Konstantin Kosachev, the co-chair of Russia’s parliamentary commission investigating the activities of American biological laboratories in Ukraine, remarked that the US’ biological research in Ukraine has generated a lot of attention, and thus, it would be difficult for Americans to hide the truth anymore.

According to Kosachev, at least 30 out of 300 US biological laboratories still remain in Ukraine, of which 50 are located along the Russian border. He noted that the moment the Russian forces occupied Ukrainian territory, the labs ceased to exist.

US Researched Dangerous Infections in Ukraine

Last year, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed that the US had conducted studies on dangerous infections in Ukraine.

In fact, last month, the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops (RCBZ) of Russian forces, Igor Kirillov, claimed that the US has been researching on ways to transmit the COVID-19 virus from animals to humans, and the pathogenic properties of the coronavirus, since 2015.

Additionally, Russian troops reported US experiments related to HIV infections, which took place in Ukraine.

In this respect, the US National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby acknowledged last month that Washington had conducted several types of research, in cooperation with Kyiv, regarding “pandemic prevention” in Ukraine. However, he stressed that the US was not involved in any military biological research in Ukraine.
